Royals pitcher and former Cardinals Sweaty Whale, Sidney Ponson, tested positive for a stimulant during the World Baseball Classic and has been banned from international competition for two years.
If you’re wondering why this news is just coming out…or why Major League Baseball will not suspend Ponson and treat him as a first-time offender…or how many places/countries Ponson is *not* suspended from, you’ve come to the wrong place. We don’t have those answers.
However, if you’re anything like me, you’re probably asking yourself, “What the hell is Phentermine?” Well, we have those answers.
Phentermine, is approved as an appetite suppressant to help reduce weight in obese patients when used short-term and combined with exercise, diet, and behavioral modification.
So Ponson got busted for an appetite suppressant? That’s like 7 kinds of awesome, but also kind of mean. Why is Phentermine considered a banned substance? Nothing wrong with a guy synthetically controlling those late night White Castle urges, right?
